An Award-winning Egyptian film director. On 2013, he completed his MA degree in directing fiction at Goldsmith college, University of London. Karim’s Filmography includes more than thirty titles between TV series, feature fiction, short fiction and documentaries. With more than fifty official selections in international film festivals, his films won a total of 14 international awards in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America.
His feature fiction debut, Gunshot, produced by iProductions and Film Clinic, was premiered in GFF 2018. He later directed his first TV Series “Qabeel” for MBC during Ramadan 2019 and was a big success commercially and critically acclaimed. He later directed one of the first few Shahid original productions “Blood oat| عهد الدم”, A 10-episode series set in Lebanon. In 2020 Karim directed the series
“Take care of Zizi” A dramedy that was highly celebrated socially and opened important discussion about mental health and modern relations. In 2023, Karim directed “The seventh itch” series, which was a great hit in the ramadan season, discussing the process of marriage and the seventh year of marriage challenges.
Throughout his career, Karim was a fellow for number of prestigious fellowships such as IFP 2011 (USA), IVLP 2013 (USA), Chevening 2014 (UK) Clore Art and Culture Leadership Program 2015 (UK) and GMM by Film independent 2016 (USA).
Karim was awarded for his work from different entities like ; ismailia international documentary film festival (Juries award , short documentary competition , “Itgah Al Marg” 2008 ) , Al jazeera international documentary film festival ( Best documentary, New Horizon Category, “Itgah Al Marg” 2008 ) , Goldsmith college script competition (Best screenplay for “Odd” 2012) , Euro-mediterranean journalism awards (Juries award, best documentary 2012) , & Naser Ben Hamad creativity award (Film Category, Odd, 2014) .
