Shank is an Egyptian film director, who ironically, studied computer science. Initially he started off as an artist with a grip on a paintbrush and pencil, he joined the advertising world as a graphic designer at Leoburnett. Eventually working as a graphic designer & copywriter simultaneously. A few multinational agencies rounds later, he became a Creative Director at BBDO Cairo where he kicked off his directing career. His first project received wide recognition and went viral locally, landing him some awards.

After a short period of time he curated his own unique solid style, storytelling technique and visual identity.

Today, Shank is one of the most well known film directors in the MENA region.

Shank has worked and found success with a lot of valued brands including Google, Spotify, Mcdonald’s, Vodafone, Peugeot, Dasani, Tecno, and Umniah.

Alongside landing many awards through out his 4 years of directing, he has shot more than 100 campaigns till this day.

Furthermore, Shank is the first commercial director in Egypt to begin directing Drama and films next to the Ads as he enjoys working on projects with long storytelling.

Having studied and majored in computer science, it helped him use his expertise in using search engines such as google to help him find recipes and cook his meals, thus becoming a good chef.
